Method
Preparation
- Mix the spice blend: Combine smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl.
- Prep your potatoes: Wash and cut the potatoes into chips, then pat them dry with paper towels.
- Toss the chips in a large mixing bowl with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and half of the spice mix.
Cooking
- Arrange the potato chips on a baking tray and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (390°F) for 30-40 minutes until golden and crispy.
- While the potatoes are baking, heat the remaining olive oil in a frying pan over high heat. Add the beef mince, breaking it apart as it cooks, and sprinkle in the remaining spice mix.
- In a small bowl, mix together the mayo, ketchup, mustard, and pickle juice to create the burger sauce.
Assembly
- Once the potatoes are crispy, divide them among bowls. Top with shredded lettuce, cooked beef, cheese, and pickle slices.
- Drizzle the burger sauce over the top before serving.
Notes
Use a non-stick pan for the beef. Sweet potatoes also work well! Feel free to experiment with toppings like bacon bits or guacamole. Serve with crispy onion rings for added crunch!
