Ingredients
  

BBQ Sauce Ingredients
  • 1 can 8 oz can tomato sauce Yup, the classic stuff.
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar DARK brown sugar if you want deep flavor.
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup Use real maple syrup.
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce The magical ingredient.
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce Optional but adds umami.
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar Adds a nice tang.
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha Optional for a kick.
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder No chopping required.
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder A must for flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder For a touch of spice.
  • 1 teaspoon paprika Gives a lovely color.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Sea salt recommended.
Main Ingredients
  • 4-5 pounds pork ribs Baby back ribs recommended.
  • to taste salt and pepper Season to preference.

Method
 

Prepare the Sauce
  1. Combine all BBQ sauce ingredients in a medium sauce pot.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring continuously.
  3. Once boiling, lower the temperature to low and let it simmer for about 15 minutes.
  4. Remove 1/2 cup of the sauce for dipping later.
Prepare the Ribs
  1. Preheat your oven to 250°F and line a baking sheet with foil.
  2. Salt and pepper both sides of the ribs.
  3. Brush both sides of the ribs with the prepared BBQ sauce.
  4. Place the ribs in the oven and flip them every 30-45 minutes, brushing with more sauce.
  5. Cook for about 3.5 to 4 hours.
Final Cooking Touch
  1. Once tender and sticky, remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest before serving.

Notes

For best results, use a meat thermometer to check the ribs for tenderness (about 190°F). Leftovers reheat beautifully in a warm oven. Pair with coleslaw and cornbread for a perfect meal.
