  • 2 pounds ground beef Lean preferred
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Garlic makes everything better
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder For extra flavor kick
  • 1 pound cooked bacon, chopped The more, the merrier
  • 8 large eggs Organic preferred
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream Full fat is best
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Sea salt for a fancy touch
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper Fresh ground preferred
  • 1 package shredded Cheddar cheese (12 oz) The more cheese, the better

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the ground beef, minced garlic, and onion powder over medium-high heat until browned, about 5–7 minutes. Drain grease.
  3. Transfer the beef mixture to a 9×13-inch casserole dish and spread evenly.
  4. Stir in the chopped cooked bacon.
  5. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, salt, pepper, and 3/4 of the cheese. Pour this mixture over the meat and bacon in the casserole dish.
  6. Top with the remaining cheese.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  8. Let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Serve with a side of steamed broccoli or salad. This casserole keeps well in the fridge for up to three days. Don't stress about perfection; it happens to the best of us!
