Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) with a pizza stone or baking sheet inside.
- On a floured surface, stretch or roll out your pizza dough to about a 12-inch round.
- Transfer the dough to a piece of parchment paper.
- Brush the dough lightly with olive oil.
- Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving about a 1/2-inch border.
Topping
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella over the sauce, then dollop the ricotta cheese across the pizza.
- Arrange the pepperoni slices on top.
- Sprinkle the crushed red pepper flakes over the pizza.
Baking
- Carefully transfer the pizza (still on the parchment) onto the preheated stone or baking sheet.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.
- Pull the pizza out of the oven and drizzle hot honey over the pizza.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves, slice, and serve hot.
Notes
Reduce the amount of sauce if using many toppings to prevent sogginess. A rolling pin is useful, but a clean wine bottle can work too. Serve on a wooden board for a rustic feel and provide extra hot honey for those who want more heat.
