Preparation
- Bring a pot of water to a boil.
- Cook the egg noodles according to package directions, usually around 8-10 minutes. Set aside.
Cooking
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the ground beef, breaking it up while cooking until no longer pink (about 6-8 minutes). Drain excess fat.
- In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the flour to the melted butter and whisk continuously for about 2 minutes until golden.
- Gradually pour in the beef broth while whisking to avoid lumps. Cook until the sauce thickens, about 3-4 minutes.
- Slowly whisk in the milk, cooking for another 5-7 minutes until creamy.
- Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, and salt until well mixed.
- Lower the heat and add the cooked egg noodles and browned ground beef, stirring until combined.
- Finally, stir in the sour cream and mix until creamy.
- Serve hot with your favorite veggies or garlic toast.
Notes
Expect some chaos while cooking, and consider using cast iron skillets for better sauce consistency.
