Ingredients
  

For the dough
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm water Make sure the water is warm but not hot.
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 packet instant yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
For frying and serving
  • Vegetable oil For frying
  • Honey For drizzling
  • Sugar For sprinkling

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast; let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture and stir until a smooth batter forms.
  3. Cover and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Cooking
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
  2. Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil, frying until golden brown on all sides.
  3. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  4. Drizzle with honey and sprinkle sugar on top before serving.

Notes

Keep an eye on them while they’re frying; they can turn golden brown quickly. If you want a twist, try adding a pinch of cinnamon to the sugar before sprinkling it on top.
