Ingredients
  

Pasta and Broccoli
  • 8 oz pasta Whole wheat or any pasta you have on hand.
  • 2 cups broccoli florets Fresh is ideal, but frozen works too.
Cooking Essentials
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Extra virgin for a fancier touch.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Keep an eye on it to prevent burning.
Seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste Sea salt is fancier but regular works.
  • Red pepper flakes (optional) Adds a nice kick!
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional) Top off for indulgence.

Preparation
  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions. When there are about 2-3 minutes left, toss in the broccoli florets.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat until it shimmers.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Do not walk away to check your phone!
  3. Add the cooked pasta and broccoli to the skillet. Toss them together and season with a pinch of salt and pepper. If you like spice, sprinkle in red pepper flakes.
Serving
  1. Serve warm! Top with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes

A large non-stick skillet is recommended for easy cleanup. Pair with lemon wedges for a zesty flavor. Double the batch for great leftovers!
