Ingredients
  

For the crust
  • 24 oz Oreo cookies Crushed for the crust
  • 1/2 cup Butter Melted
For the filling
  • 8 oz Cream cheese At room temperature
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 8 oz Whipped topping Divided
  • 1 pkg Chocolate pudding mix Follow package instructions
  • 2 cups Milk For pudding
For garnish
  • 1/2 cup Additional whipped topping For garnish
  • 1/4 cup Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder Optional

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Crush the Oreo cookies and mix them with melted butter to form the crust. Press this firmly into the bottom of a 9x13 inch pan.
  2. Beat the cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Gently fold in half of the whipped topping and spread this mixture over the crust.
  3. Prepare the chocolate pudding mix according to package instructions using milk, then pour it over the cream cheese layer.
  4. Top with the remaining whipped topping and chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or until set.
  5. Before serving, garnish with chocolate shavings or a sprinkle of cocoa powder.

Notes

Make ahead for the best flavor. Keep refrigerated until serving and consider using different cookies or adding layers of fruit or peanut butter.
