- In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the sliced chicken sausage and cook until browned.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
- Add the orzo and chicken broth, and bring to a boil.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and add the broccoli.
- Cook until the orzo is tender and the broccoli is bright green, about 10 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
Notes
Always taste as you go! If you want a creamier texture, stir in some heavy cream or cream cheese at the end. Experiment with different sausage flavors!
