Topping
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs For crispy top layer.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until just al dente. Drain and set aside.
Making the Cheese Sauce
  1. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for about 1-2 minutes.
  2. Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth, stirring until thickened (about 3-5 minutes).
  3. Stir in the cheddar, mozzarella, Parmesan, salt, pepper, and paprika until cheese melts and the sauce is creamy.
Assembly and Baking
  1. Combine the cooked pasta with the cheese sauce in a large bowl. Pour into the prepared dish and top with panko breadcrumbs.
  2. Bake for 30-35 minutes until the top is golden brown and bubbling.
  3. Let cool slightly before serving.
