Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
- Fold in the chopped pecans.
Baking
- Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them out.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow to cool slightly on the baking sheets, before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
Using non-stick baking sheets will prevent sticking. These cookies pair great with milk or coffee. For an extra flavor kick, consider adding a pinch of cinnamon.
