Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, and granulated sugar.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, and melted butter together.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- Fold in the diced apples gently using a spatula.
Baking
- Drop heaping spoonfuls of batter onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 16-18 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Glazing
- While fritters cool slightly, mix powdered sugar with milk to create a glaze.
- Drizzle the glaze over warm fritters before serving.
Notes
Serve with coffee or vanilla ice cream. Optional: mix in nutmeg or add raisins/nuts for variation.
